Execution Sentence for a Kurdish Political Activist in Iran

hrairan.org : A Kurdish political activist received the death sentence in Oroumieh's Revolutionary Court.
Reports indicate that the Revolutionary Court of Oroumieh issed the death sentence for Mr. Hossein Khezri of Oroumieh whose allegations were propaganda against the regime and cooperation with the Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan.

Mr. Khezri was arrested in October 2008 by the security forces and has since spent much of his detention in solitary confinement in the Ministry of Intelligence detention center of Oroumieh. He has received severe treatment while in detention. The court issued his death sentence while he was denied his right to choose a defense attorney and appropriate legal due process.
It is noteworthy that this sentence increases the number of Kurdish political activists currently on death row to 13
