Dr. Abdul-Rahman Ghassemlou was assassinated by the diplomat-terrorists of Islamic Republic of Iran on the negotiating table in Vienna in 1989. He had been working hard within the ranks of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran to seek a peaceful solution to the Kurdish issue in Iran.

The state terrorist of Islamic Republic of Iran exploited the good intentions of the Kurds in Iran with Ghassemlou's leadership which resulted in the loss of one of the most outspoken and talented leaders of our time.

Ghassemlou died 19 years ago due to the evil nature of the Iranian regime; however, unfortunately, the Iranian terror still hunts many people in Iran and around the world 2 decades later. As Dr. Ghassemlou's well-remembered phrase "The best reward for Martyrs is the Continuation of the path" to pay tribute to the fallen Dr. Ghassemlou we should not abandon the path of struggle and those who sacrificed their lives for. Furthermore, we should also pay tribute to the victims of the state terrorism of Islamic Republic whom we will have the honour to be with one of them on the 19th anniversary of Dr. Ghassemlou's assassination.

Ms. Nasrin Ghassemlou, the spouse of Dr. Ghassemlou will be commemorating the loss of his beloved husband and this tragic event in the history of our people with us this year.
