Iran Must Halt Execution of Kurdish Women
The Iranian authorities must halt the execution of a Kurdish political prisoner sentenced to death by Tehran's Revolutionary Court under the charge of ‘Moharebeh' (enmity against God) on January 10, 2010.
Last year, Shirin Alam-Hoei, a resident of Makoo (a city in western Azerbaijan) was detained allegedly because of her connection with the opposition group PJAK (Party for a Free Life in Kurdistan)

Saddam Hussein's notorious henchman, "Chemical Ali", faces execution within weeks after receiving a death sentence for ordering a gas attack on Kurds.
Ali Hassan al-Majid was convicted of ordering the single biggest
atrocity of Saddam's rule, the gassing of 5,600 people in the town of
Halabja.
His assault in 1988 is believed to be the worst use of poison gas against civilians anywhere.

صدور حکم اعدام برای یک زندانی سیاسی زن مهمترین و در عین حال بدترین
خبر هفتهی گذشته بود. شیرین علم هولی به اتهام محاربه از طریق همکاری با
حزب حیات آزاد کردستان (پژاک) از سوی شعبهی ۱۵ دادگاه انقلاب تهران به
اعدام محکوم شد.
این دختر ۲۸ ساله، اهل روستای دیم قشلاق از توابع شهرستان ماکو در
استان آذربایجان غربی است. وی خرداد ماه سال گذشته توسط مأموران اطلاعات
سپاه پاسداران در تهران بازداشت شد و مدت 21 روز را در بازداشتگاه این
نهاد امنیتی گذراند. وی سپس به بند ۲۰۹ اوین و پس از آن به بند نسوان این
زندان انتقال یافت.

Ebadi, 30 and BoAli Johnfeshani, 32 are at imminent risk of stoning to
death after being convicted of “adultery” in the city of Orumiyeh, West
Azerbaijan province. According to the recent news, the province court
has approved their sentences on January 6 (Day 16) without
representation by a lawyer.
Despite the moratorium imposed in 2002, stoning sentences continues to be implemented in Iran.

Halt executions of Kurdish and other political prisoners
Amnesty International
is calling on the Iranian authorities not to execute at least 17
members of Iran’s Kurdish minority, including one woman – Zeynab
Jalalian - who are on death row after their conviction of political
offences. The organization fears that they could be executed at any
time, particularly in light of the execution of two other Kurds in
Iran in recent months, most recently Fasih Yasmini in Khoy on 6
January 2010.
