Day of
Solidarity with Iran: Los Angeles Rally on July 25th
‘Rallies Planned in More Than 80 Cities Around the
World'
WHAT: Rallies
in over 55 cities around the world in support of civil rights and human rights
fro the Iranian people; calling for an end to abuse of power in Iran, stopping
the imprisonment, torture and killing; peace and justice for all.
WHY: Since
the contested election in Iran on June 12th, hundreds of thousands
of people have participated in demonstrations around the globe. Mounting
outrage driven by video of Neda's death has sparked global solidarity with the
people of Iran. New media has played an historical role in becoming Iran's
lifeline to eh world. Technology is now galvanizing support around he globe for
the women and men of Iran. Overwhelmingly driven by women and youth, a Global
Day of Action was organized.
